What this site knows about you
Very little, and this page says exactly what. It is written in plain words on purpose: a policy nobody can read is not consent.
House of Rivkah is a place to read and study the Hebrew Bible. It is not a business built on knowing things about its readers, and it is not designed to be.
What is stored on your device
If you work through the fourteen day path or a quiz, the site remembers which parts you have finished. That is kept in your own browser, in local storage. It never leaves your device, is never sent anywhere, and cannot be read by this site's operators or by anyone else.
Clearing your browser's site data erases it. There is a "start over" button on the start here page that does the same thing.
The site does not set tracking cookies and does not need any to work.
What is stored on the server
One thing: if you type your email address into the study list form and submit it, that address is saved, lowercased, with the date you signed up. Nothing else about you is recorded alongside it — no name, no location, no browsing history.
It is used to send you passages to study. It is not sold, rented, traded, or passed to any third party, and it is not loaded into any advertising or analytics service. Submitting the same address twice does nothing.
What is not collected
There is no analytics on this site. No Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Fathom, no pixel from any social network, no session recording, no heatmaps. Nobody is counting your visits or watching which chapters you open.
As with any website, the server that delivers these pages processes the ordinary request information the web itself runs on — the address requested, and your IP address — in order to send you the page. That is how the internet works rather than a choice this site made, and it is not kept as a profile of you.
Advertising
This site carries advertising from Google AdSense, in one place: below the end of a page's content, always labelled. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar identifiers to serve those ads, and may use your prior visits to this and other sites to choose which ones you see.
You can turn personalised advertising off for yourself at google.com/settings/ads, and see how Google handles data from sites that use its services at its partner sites policy. Third party vendors serving ads here are subject to their own privacy policies, not this one.
Children
Nothing here is aimed at children under thirteen, and no information is knowingly collected from them. The reading itself is open to anyone of any age; it is only the email form that stores anything, and that is not for children to fill in.
Having your address removed
Ask, and it is deleted. You do not have to give a reason and you will not be asked for one. The same goes for a copy of what is held about you, which will be one row with your address and a date.
A contact address will be published here. Until then, no email addresses are being collected for any list that has been sent anything.
Scripture
The biblical text on this site is the 1917 Jewish Publication Society translation, which is in the public domain. It is bundled with the site rather than fetched from an outside service, so opening a chapter does not tell anyone else what you are reading.
