The thing most people walk past
Nobody comes out clean
The Bible does not hide that its chosen family lies, manipulates and plays favourites. It reports the damage in detail and lets you judge. That honesty is a feature of the book, not an accident.
One verse to carry
Hast thou but one blessing, my father? bless me, even me also, O my father.
One of the loneliest lines in the Bible, and it belongs to the brother who was not chosen. The text gives him his grief in full.
A question to sit with
Rebekah acts on what she was told before the twins were born. Was she carrying out a promise, or forcing it?
There is no answer key. This is the part you take with you.
